About Jan Skrentny
Jan moved to Crestline with his artist wife Jessica from their
beach home in Los Angeles. Jan, a native of Wisconsin, was
looking for a Southern California setting that offered four
seasons and a more unhurried and bucolic environment. Having
traveled the world while working for the National Geographic
and the Smithsonian, and having lived besides Los Angeles,
in New York, Washington, D.C., Rome and London, Jan finds
the San Bernardino Mountains a real jewel of a location: Removed
from the bad yet near enough to the good.
Jan's father was a fabulous gardener back in his hometown
of Milwaukee and Jan tries to emulate and improve on the gardening
wisdom his father instilled in him. He's slowly converting
his piece of the mountain with terraced gardens, waterfalls
and lots of free-standing Irish rock walls. Besides being
on the steering committee of Mountain Beautiful and the board
of directors of CCDA, Jan has served on the board of directors
of Lake Arrowhead Country Club for eight years. Jan is a writer
for the motion picture industry, a five time Emmy award winning
Producer and also does real estate transactions for Prime
Properties in Lake Arrowhead.
