THE DAFFODIL PROJECT

Spring 2008
This past fall and winter as many as 6000 more bulbs have been planted along our streets and throughout town.  With this years' abundant rainfall we are already being awed by the gorgeous display of daffodils, tulips, paper whites and other wildflowers thanks to the CCDA and Mountain Beautiful efforts.
 

Spring 2007
Bulbs again were planted in numerous public spaces this year.  We covered the area along the walking path in front of the Crestline Chamber of Commerce with a blanket of daffodils.  Additional bulbs were also planted along the path at the main entrance to the lake and around the south parking lot area.

Spring 2006
Late fall 2005 and in the early winter, as its first public planting project, Mountain Beautiful members planted 4,000 daffodils and pounds of wildflowers along Highway 138 and Lake Drive from the Crestline Cut Off into downtown Crestline. We need your help to make our hometown beautification efforts work. All of us pulling together can make a big difference. We want to begin with something big. Our vision is daffodils—lots of them, carefully—planted along the entrance to Crestline like a warm and welcoming floral ribbon, these thousands of daffodils will make a huge difference to a visitor's first impression. Then, later in the year, wildflowers and hollyhocks we planted will take their place. Imagine driving home from work and seeing these flowers that you helped plant coming out to say "welcome home." And that's just the first step of what we have in mind.
